Training topics · Abuse and neglect reporting

Abuse and neglect training that teaches your exact reporting steps.

Recognizing the signs is only half of it. Staff also need to know exactly who to tell, how fast and what to write down. We build training from your own reporting policy so every employee practices your steps, not a generic flowchart.

What the standard says

Skilled nursing facilities must train staff on activities that constitute abuse, neglect, exploitation and misappropriation of resident property, on procedures for reporting them, and on dementia management and resident abuse prevention. Nurse aide in-service training must include dementia management and resident abuse prevention (42 CFR 483.95(c) and (g)).

For home care, home health and assisted living, state mandated-reporter rules apply, and they vary from state to state.

Our modules are designed to support these requirements. Your organization provides the supervision, keeps the records, and remains responsible for meeting them.

The problem in the field

Knowing the signs isn’t the same as knowing what to do.

Most staff can list a few warning signs of abuse or neglect. Far fewer can tell you, in the moment, who they call first, what they say, and what they write down. That uncertainty is where delays happen.

Training that walks through your reporting chain step by step, with realistic decisions, helps staff act quickly and confidently while protecting the person in their care.

FAQ

Abuse and neglect training questions.

Will this satisfy our state’s mandated reporter requirement?

State rules vary. We build to your policy and your state’s steps, and your compliance lead confirms the content meets your requirements.

Does it include dementia-related abuse prevention?

It can. We can add dementia management and abuse prevention content, which nurse aide in-service training in skilled nursing facilities must include.

Can contracted staff use it?

Yes. We can build a version for contracted and agency staff so everyone follows the same reporting steps.
