Training topics · Emergency preparedness

Emergency preparedness training built from your plan, not a generic one.

Your emergency plan already says who does what. We turn it into short decisions staff can practice, so new hires learn their role on day one and everyone can show what they’d do first.

What the standard says

Home health agencies and hospices must provide initial emergency preparedness training to new and existing staff and to individuals providing services under arrangement, provide EP training at least every 2 years, maintain documentation, demonstrate staff knowledge of emergency procedures, and retrain when the plan is significantly updated (42 CFR 484.102(d); hospice 42 CFR 418.113(d)).

Our modules are designed to support these requirements. Your organization provides the supervision, keeps the records, and remains responsible for meeting them.

The problem in the field

A plan in a binder isn’t the same as a team that knows it.

Most agencies have a solid emergency plan. The hard part is making sure the aide who started last month knows her role, how to reach the office when phones are down, and which patients get called first.

Turning the plan into scenario decisions lets staff practice before the storm, and gives you a completion record that shows they did.
