Training topics · Hospice teams

Hospice training that sounds like your hospice.

Your philosophy of care is what makes your hospice yours. We turn it, and your policies, into short nurse-written modules for orientation and aide in-services, so every employee, contractor and volunteer hears the same message in the same warm voice.

We reply within one business day.

What the standard says

Hospice aides must receive at least 12 hours of in-service training during each 12-month period, supervised by a registered nurse (42 CFR 418.76(d)).

Hospices must provide orientation about the hospice philosophy to all employees and contracted staff who have patient and family contact, an initial job-specific orientation for each employee, assessment of the skills and competence of everyone furnishing care (including volunteers) with in-service training as needed, and a written description of the in-service training provided during the previous 12 months (42 CFR 418.100(g)).

Our modules are designed to support these requirements. Your organization provides the supervision, keeps the records, and remains responsible for meeting them.

The problem in the field

The hardest conversations are the least practiced.

Hospice aides and new staff often learn the most important conversations on the job, in the moment, with a family who is frightened. Questions about appetite, breathing changes and what happens next come up on almost every visit, and the words that help are rarely written down anywhere.

A short module that models the language, then lets staff practice choosing a response and hear why it matters, gives your team a shared way of speaking that matches your philosophy of care.

What we build for this topic

Orientation and in-service modules for your hospice

  1. Your hospice philosophy, in your own words, from a presenter you approve
  2. Conversations that matter: appetite, breathing changes and family worry
  3. Comfort-focused observation and reporting for aides
  4. A knowledge check, a supervisor sign-off checklist and a completion record
  • Versions for employees, contracted staff and volunteers
  • Your medical director or administrator can appear on screen with the leader presenter add-on
  • Never any patient information
How it works for hospice teams

Orientation and in-services that fit between visits.

Orientation to your hospice philosophy

A welcoming module for every new employee and contractor with patient and family contact, written from your mission and policies.

Conversations that matter

Practice with realistic family moments, such as a daughter worried her father isn’t eating, so staff respond with compassion and accuracy.

Aide in-services that fit between visits

Short modules aides can finish on a phone, with your RN supervising and a completion record for your 12-month in-service description.

Volunteers and contracted staff

The same core message, adapted for the role, so volunteers and contractors hear your philosophy the way your employees do.

FAQ

Questions hospice leaders ask.

Can you train volunteers too?

Yes. We can build a volunteer version of any module, adapted for the role and the tasks volunteers perform under your policies.

Will the content match our philosophy and language?

That’s the point. Every script starts from your mission statement and policies, and you approve the wording before we produce.

Who reviews clinical accuracy?

A registered nurse writes every script, and your named reviewer approves it before production and again after the build.

Do you need patient information?

Never. We work only from policies, procedures and fictional examples. Please don’t send PHI.

Can our medical director or administrator appear as presenter?

Yes, with the leader presenter add-on (+$950 one-time setup). It is created only with their documented consent, used only in your modules, disclosed as AI, and deleted when the project closes.
